Login To The Belkin F9K1112

We begin this wireless setup guide on the Status page of the Belkin F9K1112v1 router. From there click the option in the left side bar labeled Channel and SSID which is found under Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Belkin F9K1112

There are two columns on this page. One is titled 2.4GHz and the other is called 5GHz. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. We recommend 2.4GHz because more wireless devices can use this frequency than can use 5GHz.

Use the Wireless Channel list to choose the channel you want to use. Make sure you pick from channels 1, 6, and 11. Learn why in this guide.

The next setting is titled SSID. This is your network identification. Change this name to something unique that you will remember but don't use personal information. Learn more in this guide.

After you have made these two settings, click the Apply Changes button to save your settings.

Back in the left sidebar click the option of Security directly under Channel and SSID.

Using the same column as you did on the previous page, choose your Security Mode. Select WPA/WPA2-Personal(PSK).

There is one more setting that needs to be changed. It is titled Pre-Shared Key(PSK). This is the internet password and should be strong. Use at least 14 characters and a minimum of one symbol, number, and capital letter. For more ideas click this link.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
