In this guide we will show you how to reset the Belkin F5D8235-4v1 router back to factory defaults. There is some confusion about the difference between resetting a router and rebooting a router. Rebooting the router is simply restarting the device in order to cycle the power. When you want to reset a router you want to take all the settings and return them back to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router is can cause problems for you if you don't know what settings have been changed. One good idea is to create a list of settings you know will be changed. While making this list consider the following:

  • The router's interface username and password.
  • The WiFi SSID, password, and security type.
  • The ISP username and password if you have DSL.
  • Other settings you have personalized such as port forwards or IP addresses.
