Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F5D8236-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D8236-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D8236-4

When you are finished logging into the Belkin F5D8236-4v1 you should begin on the Status page. On the left is a list of links, click the one labeled Virtual Servers, this is just under Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D8236-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on the correct page to begin forwarding some ports. Place a check in the first box labeled Enable.

Next is the Description box, enter the name of the program, or something that helps you to remember why you forwarded these ports, this box is more for your information only.

Now for the Inbound port and Private port boxes. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that number in both of these boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter them in range format, 22-36, in both of these boxes.

Under the Type heading is a drop down menu. Use this menu to select the type of protocol you are going to use to forward these ports.

In the Private IP address box, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, for instance, if you are forwarding a range of ports to run a program on your computer, use that computer's IP address.

When you have finished these steps, click the Add button and the Apply Changes button.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D8236-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
