This is the port forwarding guide for the Dlink DIR-655 v2. We also have the following guides for the same router:

Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink DIR-655 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

You should now be on a page like the one you see above.

  • First, in an empty row of boxes, place a check in the small box on the left. This action enables the forward you are about to create.
  • Next to that on the right is the Name. It isn't real important what you enter here, but we suggest entering the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for.
  • Below that is the IP Address. Key in the LAN IP address of the specific computer you are forwarding these ports to. If you aren't sure how to find your computer's IP address, click the guide What is my IP Address.
  • Go ahead and skip the next to drop down boxes, and place your cursor in the box titled TCP. Enter the ports you want forwarded in this box. Enter those same port numbers in the UDP box also. These can be entered several different ways, as a list, 22,56,89, a range, 80-100, or a mixture of both of these, 22,29,34,80-100.
  • Set the Schedule to Always. Then under that, set the Inbound Filter to Allow All.
  • Finally, click the button close to the top of the page labeled Save Settings.

Congratulations, you're done!
