In this guide we will show you how to reset the Asus Tomato v1-28 router back to factory defaults. When I use the term reset I am not referring to a reboot. A reboot can be done by turning the device off, waiting about 30 seconds, and turning the route back on. A reset erases all your previous configurations and reverts them back to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting a router erases a lot of settings including:

  • The router's username and password.
  • The WiFi username (SSID) and password.
  • If you use DSL, you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for this information.
  • All other settings such as port forwards or IP address changes.
