Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F5D7231-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D7231-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D7231-4

Now that you have successfully logged into the Belkin F5D7231-4v2 you begin on the Status page of this router. To begin the port forwarding process, click the choice on the left side of the page labeled Virtual Servers.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D7231-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You should now be on a page like the one you see above. In the first box, which is labeled Enable, place a check here.

Next is the Description. Enter the program name here, or something that helps you remember why you are forwarding these ports.

In the next boxes, if you are forwarding a single port, enter that number in both of the boxes labeled Inbound port. Enter this same number in the boxes labeled Private port also. When you are forwarding multiple ports in a range, enter the lowest number of the range in the left box of both the Inbound port and Private port. Then enter the highest number of the range in the right hand box of both the Inbound port and Private port.

After this, in the middle box is the Type drop down menu. Use this menu to choose which type of protocol you want to use when forwarding these ports.

In the box labeled Private IP address, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to. For example, if you are forwarding these ports to run a program on specific computer, you should use that computer's IP address in this box.

When you have finished with the steps above, click the Add button near the top an the Apply Changes button at the bottom of the page. That's it, you've finished!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D7231-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
