Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D7231-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D7231-4

Once you have finished logging into the Belkin F5D7231-4v5 you are taken to the Status page for this router. On the left is a list of choices, pick the one labeled Virtual Servers, which will be under the heading of Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D7231-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

On this new page is a large blue box. On the first empty line place a check mark in the smaller box labeled Enable.

The next box over to the right is the Description. Enter the name of the program in this box, or something that will remind you why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a single port, you enter this number in four different places. First enter them into both boxes labeled Inbound portand then in both boxes labeled Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in this range in the left box of both the Inbound port and Private port. Enter the highest number of the range in the right box of both the Inbound port and Private port.

The center box is the Type drop down menu. Use this menu to choose the type of protocol you are going to use to forward these ports.

In the Private IP address box, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, for example, if you are forwarding a port to run a program on a computer, be sure to use that computer's IP address in this box.

When you are done, click the blue Add button at the top of the page, then the Apply Changes button close to the bottom of the page.
