How to Reset the Belkin F5D8233-4

This guide will show you how to reset the Belkin F5D8233-4v1 router back to factory defaults. This is not the same thing as rebooting the router. Rebooting the router is simply restarting the device to cycle it's power. A reset on the other hand takes all the settings and returns them to how they were from the factory.

Warning: Resetting this router can be a problem if you don't know what settings are changed. We recommend making a list of settings that you know will be changed. This list needs to include the following:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The WiFi information such as SSID, password, and security mode.
  • The ISP username and password if you have DSL. You will need to contact your ISP for this information.
  • Any other settings such as port forwards or firewall settings are erased.
