Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink AirPlus DI-614+ to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Dlink AirPlus DI-614+

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Dlink AirPlus DI-614+ router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Dlink AirPlus DI-614+ router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink AirPlus DI-614+

Beginning on the Home page of the Dlink DI-614+v2 router, first choose the option of Advanced at the top of the page. Then, look to the left, in this new set of choices, pick Virtual Servers.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Dlink AirPlus DI-614+

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This router only allows for single port forwards, so if you want to forward multiple ports, you will need to create a new forward for each port.

Begin by click the Enabled dot.

Then, below that is the Name box. What you enter in this space is not important, this is for your future reference, we highly recommend entering the program name here.

The Private IP is next. Every computer connected to your wireless network is given a unique LAN IP address, enter the specific LAN IP address of the computer you wish to forward this port to.

Select the type of protocol you want to use to forward this port in the drop down menu of Protocol Type.

Now for the port number. Enter this in the Private Port box, and again in the Public Port box.

Set the Schedule to Always.

Click Apply once you have finished.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink AirPlus DI-614+ you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
