Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D7230-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D7230-4

Now that you have finished logging into the Belkin F5D7230-4 you begin on the Status page of your router. The first step to forwarding a port is to click the choice on the left side of the page labeled Virtual Servers.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D7230-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This takes you to the correct page. First, put a check mark in the box labeled Enable.

Next to this is the Description. Enter the name of the program, or something else that helps you remember why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter this number into both boxes under the heading of Inbound port and again in both boxes under Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of the range in the left box of both the Inbound port and the Private port. Enter the highest number in the range in the right box of both the Inbound port and the Private port.

Under the heading of Type, use the drop down menu to choose the type of protocol you want to use when forwarding your ports.

Next is the Private IP Address, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to in this box. For example, if you are forwarding ports to run a program on a computer, be sure and use that computer's IP address in this box.

When you have finished all these steps, click the Add button, then Apply Changes, which should be near the bottom of the page.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D7230-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
