Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F5D7230-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D7230-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D7230-4

Now that you have logged into the Belkin F5D7230-4v4 you begin on the Status page. In the left side bar choose the link labeled Virtual Servers, under the heading of Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D7230-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This places you on the correct page to begin the port forwarding process. In the first empty line place a check mark in the box labeled Enable.

In the box labeled Description type in the description of what you are forwarding, a program name for instance.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter this number into both of the Inbound port boxes and both of the Private port boxes. If you are forwarding multiple ports, in a range, enter the lowest number of the range in the left box of both the Inbound port and Private port. Enter the highest number in the right box of both Inbound port and Private port.

The center box is the Type drop down menu. From this menu choose the type of protocol you want to use when forwarding your ports.

After this is the Private IP address, enter the IP address you are forwarding your ports to in this box. For instance, if you are forwarding ports to run a program on computer A, then be sure and use computer A's IP address.

Click Add, then Apply Changes near the bottom. That's it, you're finished.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D7230-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
