Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D9231-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D9231-4

Now that you have finished logging into the Belkin F5D9231-4v1 you begin on the Status page. In the list to the left of the page, click the choice labeled Virtual Servers, this is just under Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D9231-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are then taken to a page like this one. Place a check in the box labeled Enable.

Now, in the Description box, enter the name of the program or something that will remind you why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter that number in the box labeled Inbound port and Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter this range into both of these boxes. Enter them in Inbound port and Private port with the lowest number first, highest number last, and separated with a dash. An example is 22-34.

Next is the Type drop down menu. Use this menu to choose the type of protocol you are going to use when forwarding these ports.

In the Private IP Address box enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, for example if you are forwarding these ports to run a program on your computer, then use that computer's IP address here.

After you have finished these steps, click the button near the top of the page labeled Add, then Apply Changes.

Congratulations, you are done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D9231-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
