Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F5D9231-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D9231-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D9231-4

Now that you have finished logging into the Belkin F5D9231-4v2 you are taken to the Status page. On the left is a list of links, click the one labeled Virtual Servers.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D9231-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now taken to the Firewall>Virtual Servers page. Place a check in the box labeled Enable in the first empty line.

In the Description box enter the name of the program. It really isn't that important what you put in here, but would be a good idea to enter something that will help you remember why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the left box of both the Inbound port and Private port. Enter the highest number in the right box of both Inbound port and Private port. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that number in both boxes of Inbound port and both boxes under Private port.

Next you have the Type drop down menu. Use this menu to choose the type of protocol you want to use to forward these ports.

Under Private IP address enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, for example if you are forwarding ports to run a certain program on your computer, you should enter that computer's IP address here.

After you have finished all this, click the Add button and then the Apply Changes button.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D9231-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
