Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Belkin F9K1102 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Forward a Port on the Belkin F9K1102 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F9K1102

After you have finished logging into the Belkin F9K1102v1 you are placed on the Status page. On the left side of the page is a large list of links, find the one labeled Virtual Servers it is directly under the heading of Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F9K1102

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This places you on the Firewall>Virtual Servers page of the Belkin F9K1102v1. Belkin F9K1102v1. In the first box labeled Enable place a check.

In the next box to the right, enter the name of the program or something similar. It is not important what you enter here so long as you remember why you are forwarding this port.

Next is the Inbound port and the Outbound port boxes. Enter the port number you are forwarding in both of these boxes, the same number in both.

Use the drop down menu labeled Type to choose the type of protocol you want to use when forwarding this port.

Under the heading of Private IP Address type in the ip address of the computer you are forwarding this port to. For example if you are forwarding a port to run a certain program on your computer, be sure to use that computer's IP Address here in this box.

When you have finished, click the button near the top labeled Apply Changes.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F9K1102 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
