Setup WiFi on the Dlink AirPlus DI-624

Login To The Dlink AirPlus DI-624

Begin on the Home page of the Dlink DI-624v3 router. To setup the WiFi settings, click the choice in the left side bar labeled Wireless.

On this new page, you should first, find the SSID. This is the name you are to give your network so that you can distinguish it from the others around you. Use your imagination here, but avoid personal information that gives away who you are. Refer to our Wireless Names Guide for more information on this subject.

The second thing you may need to change is the Channel. Be sure you are on one of the three non-overlapping channels, 1,6, and 11. To learn more about these channels, read our WiFi Channels Guide.

Now, drop down to the Security list. Select WPA2 from this list. This is considered the most secure option. Learn more about these security options by reading our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

The Authentication should be set to Shared Key.

Now you need to enter a Passphrase. This is the password you use to access your network, it is also used in the encryption so it should be strong, we recommend using at least 20 characters. To learn more about this topic, read our Choosing a Strong Password Guide to learn more about this topic.

Re-type your password in the Confirmed Passphrase box.

Finish by clicking the green Apply button.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
