This is the port forwarding guide for the Dlink DIR-615 v3. We also have the following guides for the same router:

Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink DIR-615 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Now on the Port Forwarding Rules page, find an empty row of boxes and place a check in the small box on the far left. This enables the rule you are about to create.

It doesn't really matter what you enter in the Name box, but we suggest entering the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for.

Beneath that is the IP Address. This is referring to the internal IP address of the computer you are forwarding these ports to. If you are unsure of how to find this, What is my IP Address is our guide on how to find the computer's internal IP address.

Now, skip over to the Ports to Open. Enter the ports you want to forward in the TCP, and again in the UDP box. These can be entered a few different ways:

  • As a list, 22,23,26
  • As a range, 80-100
  • Or as a combination of both, 22,23,80-100

Choose Always for the Schedule.

Pick Allow All for the Inbound Filter.

Click the Save Settings button near the top of the page, and you are finished!

Test if Your Ports are Open
