Setup WiFi on the Huawei B593s-22

Change the WiFi Settings on the Huawei B593s-22

On this page the first thing you want to do is make sure your Wi-Fi is on. It is on if the Enable box next to Wi-Fi is marked.

The next setting that needs your attention is the SSID. This is the network name and is how you identify your network. When coming up with a new SSID don't use personal information or router specific information. Learn more about this topic in our wireless names guide.

Now locate the drop down box labeled Security. This is the encryption you are using. Our recommendation is to use WPA2-PSK. Our guide titled WEP vs. WPA explains the different choices you have available.

Set the WPA encryption to AES.

Finally in the box labeled WPA-PSK or maybe WPA2-PSK enter the password you want to use for your network. This password is for the Internet access. We recommend using at least 14 characters. Learn how to make a memorable and secure password in our Choosing a Strong Password guide.

Click the blue Submit button near the bottom of the page before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
