Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F6D4230-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F6D4230-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F6D4230-4

You have already logged into the Belkin F6D4230-4v1 and are on the Status page. First, click the choice on the left side of the page labeled Virtual Servers, this is just under Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F6D4230-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This will direct you to a new page, like the one above. In the first empty row of boxes, place a check in the first box labeled Enable.

Next, in the box labeled Description, enter the name of the program. This is not real important, you can just enter something that is going to remind you of why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into both of the boxes under Inbound port and again in both boxes under Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the left box of both the Inbound port and the Private port. Enter the highest number in the right box of both the Inbound port and Private port.

The next box is the drop down menu labeled Type. Use this menu to select the type of protocol you are going to use to actually forward these ports.

Under the heading of Private IP address enter just that, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to. For example if you are forwarding ports to run a particular program on your computer, then use that computer's IP address here.

Before you leave this page, make sure to click the Add button and the Apply Changes button.
