Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Login To The Belkin F6D4230-4

Forward a Port on the Belkin F6D4230-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F6D4230-4

When you have finished logging into the Belkin F6D4230-4-v3 you begin on the Status page. On the left is a list of links, choose the one labeled Virtual Servers, which is directly under Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F6D4230-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are then taken to the page you see above. In the first empty line, check the box labeled Enable.

Next to this enter the name of the program or something similar that will remind you of why you are forwarding these ports in the box Description.

If you are forwarding a single port, you need to enter that port number in the boxes labeled Inbound port and Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter them in a format such as 22-39 with the lowest number first, highest number last, and separated by a dash. Enter this range in both boxes Inbound port and Private port.

In the Type drop down menu choose the type of protocol you are going to use when forwarding these ports.

In the Private IP Address box, enter the IP Address you are forwarding these ports to. For instance if you are forwarding ports to run a program on your computer, use that computer's IP address here.

Last of all, click the Add button, and before exiting, click the Apply Changes.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F6D4230-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
